100th Year Celebration Fundraiser

In 2010 the Los Angeles Aviation Meet reaches its 100th anniversary. To honor the achievements of those who competed in the event, a PBS quality documentary is being produced along with a companion coffee table book, DVD, and a physical/digital archive. These materials will include biographies of the participants, aviation meet events, and a unique perspective on early 20th century Los Angeles. Slated to be part of CSU Dominguez Hills’ 50th Anniversary, the documentary will premiere at the beautiful new Loker Student Union on campus.

Numerous events are being planned for the celebration including flyovers, parachutists, blimps, displays, celebrity and guest speakers from aviation groups, and a period Grand Costume Ball. It is sure to capture the hearts and minds of all who attend and to become a lasting tribute to aviation history.

How Can You Help?

We are looking for aviation buffs, historians and others interested in preserving this unique piece of California history. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to provide for these activities.
