Academic Technology Unit-student assistants job description. Work Study
Job Duties Include:
Answer desk telephone and e-mail primarily for Blackboard help desk. Provide guidance to student and faculty users regarding usernames/passwords and basic functioning of the courseware system. Occasional use of scanner, cameras, and other digital devices including running certain errands for Academic Technology. 2 positions available; 1st position- Monday through Friday, 8-12, 2nd Position- Monday through Thursday 1-4.
Desirable Skills:
- Basic HTML competency using FrontPage, Dreamweaver or comparable software
- Basic Understanding of Blackboard Courseware in online learning environment
- Proficiency in use of computers, computer literacy, and competence
- Familiarity with PC operating systems and environment
- Competent and comfortable using MS Office
- Must be able to explain technical matters clearly and accurately.
- Good customer service and public contact skills are required.
- Must have strong diagnostic ability with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Must demonstrate attitude and ability to participate in a team environment to achieve group/unit goals.
- Promote and ensure security/confidentiality of computer systems and data.
- Maintain flexible hours to achieve the above duties.
