Art Department Alumni Return in 50th Anniversary Alumni Art Exhibition

The “50th Anniversary Alumni Art and Design Exhibition,” an invitational exhibition held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary celebration of the founding of California State University, Dominguez Hills, will feature 75 works of art in varied media by more than two dozen alumni from the art and design departments. The exhibit will open on Wednesday, Sept. 29, and continue through Oct. 27 at the University Art Gallery.

Henry Cisneros to Speak at CSU Dominguez Hills
Dr. Henry Cisneros, former United States Housing and Urban Development (HUD) secretary under the Clinton Administration, will deliver the inaugural lecture of the California State University, Dominguez Hills Presidential Lecture Series from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, in the University Theatre.

Unveiling of “Manifest Diversity” Celebrates Mural of Diverse American History

On Sept. 9, students, faculty and staff, alumni, and other community supporters gathered near the Loker Student Union at California State University, Dominguez Hills for the unveiling of “Manifest Diversity,” a mural that was created under the guidance of muralist Eliseo Art Silva. The large-scale work is now on view in the Multicultural Center with its depiction of a multiethnic view of American history as painted by students and volunteers from the university community.
