1.0 Overview

Duolingo English Test (DET) is included as an option to the tests which CSUDH approves for proof of English proficiency of international student applicants.

2.0 Scores

2.1 DET scores are for International Student admission purposes only as follows:

• Undergraduate: 95
• Graduate: 105 except
• MA English literature: 120

3.0 Distribution

3.1 The policy will be distributed to the President of CSUDH, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, College Deans, the Registrar, and the faculty of CSUDH.

4.0 Rationale

4.1 The DET is already an accepted standard for International Student Admission at sixteen of our sister campuses, most with the same score requirements. It is much less expensive than the currently accepted alternatives, and potentially available much more widely. Offering this option for this admission requirement provides access for more International Students, and particularly for students with greater financial need.
