Resolution in Support of Best Practices to Inform Non-Tenure Track Faculty of CSUDH Tenure-Track Open Positions.

 

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of California State University Dominguez Hills (ASCSUDH) recognizes the invaluable contributions made to the campus by our Non-Tenure Track faculty and be it further,

RESOLVED: That the ASCSUDH, therefore, asserts it in the best interests of the University, Academic Affairs, and all campus search committees to continuously assess and implement best practices for recruiting Non-Tenure Track Faculty, Librarians, and Counselors into Tenure-Track positions, further,

RESOLVED: That Faculty Affairs notify the Search Committee Chair and Department Chair

when the position is posted in publications or electronic platforms (e.g., Career Opportunities (csudh.edu); and be it further,  

RESOLVED: That the Department Chair, upon receipt, should, via email, share the posting with all NTTF Faculty within the Department; and be it further,

RESOLVED: In the library and student psychological services,  Faculty Affairs will notify the Search Committee  Chair and  the Associate Dean or Director for distribution to temporary librarians and counselors;

RESOLVED: That the Non-Tenure Track Advisory Board (NTTFAB) post a link to the Chancellors Office System-wide career opportunities website (https://csucareers.calstate.edu/), and be it further,

 

RESOLVED: That the ASCSUDH distribute this resolution to the University President, Provost, President’s Cabinet, Statewide Academic Senate, College Deans, Department Chairs, Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, the California Faculty Association, NTTFAB, all faculty members, and the CSU Emeritus and Retired Faculty Association

RATIONALE: Given the broad institutional knowledge, demonstrated commitment to our campus, and familiarity with CSUDH ‘s cultural standards that NTTF bring to the University,as well as the benefits of a strong application pool, it is essential to the functioning of the University to encourage NTTF within our own CSUDH Community to apply for all applicable Fulltime, Tenure -Track faculty positions, as they become available. Further, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (2022-2024-CFA-CBA.pdf (calstate.edu)), NTTF should be notified of vacancies within campuses.
