University Community Engage Learning Committee (UCELC)

The University Community Engaged Learning Committee (UCELC), a standing committee of
the Academic Senate, is charge with supporting the growth of a culture of community engagement at CSUDH and to advance the mission, vision, and goals of the University while it positively impacts students, faculty, and staff.

Committee Composition

The UCELC’s approved charge indicates that the Director of the Center for Service
Learning, Internships, and Civic Engagement (SLICE) and the Faculty Liaison for
Community Engagement shall serve as co-Chairs and engage in on-going consultation with
all stakeholders regarding the CEL designation process.

One faculty member from each of the following Colleges and Units elected by the faculty
of those Colleges:College of Arts & Humanities

  • College of Business Administration & Public Policy
  • College of Arts & Humanities 
  • College of Education
  • College of Health, Human Services, & Nursing
  • College of Natural & Behavioral Sciences
  • The University Library
  • One member of Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) with undergraduate standing
    elected by ASI Leadership.
  • One member of ASI with graduate standing elected by ASI Leadership.
  • AVP of Academic Advising and Career Development or designee.
  • Assistant Vice President of External Relations or designee.
  • EPC chair or designee.
  • The Dean of Undergraduate Studies (ex officio).
