Erica Tinsley is a Senior Systems Security Engineer at Raytheon, a business of RTX that specializes in integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, and cyber solutions. In this role, she is responsible for working with a team of world-class engineers innovating new technologies and enhancing existing capabilities.
Previously, Tinsley was a Technologist at the Aerospace Corporation, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) committed to space-related science and engineering.
Tinsley holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), with a concentration in Homeland Security. She received her Master of Science in Law with a specialization in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy with honors from Loyola Law School Los Angeles.
Tinsley is the recipient of multiple Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) honors and awards. Among them are the Intelligence Community Scholarship, STEM Advantage Scholarship, Women in Technology Scholarship and Department of Homeland Security Research Fellowship.
Tinsley also serves on the board of directors of PROWESS (Partnership of Women Excelling as Scientist and Scholars), a group committed to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of STEM and Cybersecurity professionals. She is committed to leading and encouraging K-12 girls and underrepresented minorities in hopes of closing the gender gap and diversifying the STEM workforce.
