Michael Whittiker, Jr. is the Director of Community Services/Parks & Recreation for the City of Carson. He has thirty-two years of experience working for the City of Carson in the Parks and Recreation and Human Services Department, and has a vast knowledge of Community and Social Services. During his career as a Carson employee he has worked with many organizations to assist the Carson community.

As an alumnus of California State University of Dominguez Hills, he has collaborated with many programs to bridge the gap between the City of Carson and CSUDH. Mr. Whittiker has served the City in various capacities as a committed public servant. In his previous role as Manager of the Human Services Division he was responsible for overseeing many sections of the Human Services Division which included: Therapeutic Recreation, Special Interest, Stroke Center, Senior Social Services, Early Childhood Education, Senior Assisted Living, Senior Recreation, Youth Services and Cultural Arts. 

His focus is on meeting the needs of the community and focusing on maintaining the commitment to improving the overall quality of life. He has a passion for community service, and is grateful for the continuous opportunity to serve the people of Carson.
