Micah Ali is the President of the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees and President Emeritus of the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association.
A national leader of educational policy, Ali has been at the forefront of legislative efforts to broaden access to early care and education for low-income children, to establish school-based health centers to make health care more readily available to children in local communities, and expand opportunities for academic excellence in public schools. Ali serves on several boards, such as the Council of Urban Boards of Education, the National School Boards Association, and the California School Boards Association. He also is an appointed member on the state’s Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Commission.
