Dr. Blanca Cantu has been a teacher and administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 30 years. For the past 15 years, she has served as an elementary school principal in the LAUSD. Because she believes strongly in sharing the knowledge she has accumulated over her long career, Dr. Cantu also teaches part-time at CSUDH. She oversees several courses in the Liberal Studies and Child Development programs, and allows Toro students to use her school for their practice.
Prior to attending CSUDH, Dr. Cantu received her B.A. in Child Development, teaching credential, and BCLAD from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). After spending several years as an elementary school teacher, she returned to school at CSUDH. Upon receiving her preliminary administrative credential, Dr. Cantu transitioned to her role as school principal, helping transform low-performing schools into well-organized instructional facilities. Dr. Cantu attained her Educational Doctorate and Clear Administrative Credential from the University of Southern California.
