Gilbert F. Ivey is the former assistant general manager/chief administrative officer of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. He retired in 2015 after more than 40 years with the organization.

Ivey joined Metropolitan as a high school summer trainee in the district’s Engineering Division. He was among the first African Americans to integrate the district.

Ivey serves in leadership positions on numerous boards and commissions, including the city of La Verne’s Planning Commission. He formerly served on the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Central City Association, American Association of Blacks in Energy, and Los Angeles County Fairplex Advisory Board.
