Asian Pacific Studies Department

The mission of the Asian-Pacific Studies Program is to provide our students with high-quality education that enhances their understanding of the Asian Pacific region and its transnational connections. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, research, writing and presentation skills, the Asian Pacific Studies Program is committed to providing an education that prepares our students to excel in the contemporary multicultural and global world

Asian & Pacific Islander Faculty & Staff Association

The Mission of the California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) Asian & Pacific Islander Faculty & Staff Association (API-FSA) is to promote community among Asian and Pacific Islander faculty and staff to engender an inclusive and supportive environment on campus. We aim to be an inclusive community of all faculty & staff. The API-FSA host various events throughout the academic year with focus on community building, professional development, and faculty and staff engagement. Membership is open to all current and emeritus faculty and staff at CSUDH.

Pagsikapan

Pagsikapan - PASC, a Philipinx-American Student Community, exists for the betterment of California State University, Dominguez Hills’ campus and the communities surrounding it. Through collaboration with students and faculty members from varying ethnic backgrounds, PASC works to unify all cultures within Dominguez Hills to prosper individually and as a society by sharing Philipino culture and values through our activities and outreach.

Muslim Student Union

The Muslim Student Union (MSU) at CSUDH is a religious student organization which seeks to serve the Muslim student community by providing religious services and fostering social, spiritual, educational, and moral development in a way that compels Muslim students to contribute positively and uniquely to the campus community and beyond.

OCEANIA

The purpose of this organization is to cultivate excellence among Pacific Islanders and members of the Oceania community in higher-education. As a collective, we are dedicated to increasing awareness of and strengthening our individual “Nesian” identities within our society. Our organization strives to support, empower, and serve students of Polynesian, Micronesian, and Melanesian descent. We plan to achieve this through leadership development, cultural revitalization, and educational dialogue focused on the complex heritage of Pacific Islanders.

Vietnamese Student Association

The California State Dominguez Hills Vietnamese Student Association strives to preserve, represent, and promote Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American culture at California State University Dominguez Hills. Our mission is to provide a safe space where both Vietnamese, Vietnamese-Americans, and those interested in Vietnamese culture can come together in community to learn about, share, and spread awareness of Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American experiences. Through hosting social events such as picnics, fundraisers, karaoke night, cuisines such as potlucks, potential Vietnamese Culture Nights (VCN) that showcase traditional dances, cuisines, music, and more, VSA strives to improve its social connections and cultural awareness. VSA aims to foster a welcoming environment for those interested and create lasting and authentic connections while finding pride in their unique cultural experiences and shared heritage.

Writing Center

The CSUDH Writing Center provides individual tutoring sessions for writers at all levels and from all disciplines across the university. Our disciplinarily-trained writing associates and writing professionals work with writers at all stages of the writing process. The Writing Center offers limited in-person appointments and online tutoring designed to meet your individual preferences and work with your schedule. Schedule an appointment here.

Toro Learning & Testing Center

Tutoring: Students may now schedule tutoring appointments through Toro Success Collaborative (TSC), accessed through csudh.campus.eab.com.

The Toro Learning and Testing Center offers a variety of academic support to all currently enrolled and matriculated students. The Learning Center strives to create an open atmosphere of learning, promote engaged academic scholarship, and to provide students with opportunities to be fully integrated into the rich culture of the university. The Testing Center supports and enhances student success by providing a secure and comfortable atmosphere for testing.

Mental & Emotional Wellbeing

Student Psychological Services offers in-person and tele-health therapy (including telephone and/or video conferencing). Please call (310) 243-3818 at any time if you are interested in psychological services.

CalFresh

CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program to help low-income individuals, families, and college students buy the food they need. If you have any questions, you may make an appointment by email: calfresh@csudh.edu. Additionally, learn more and sign up for CalFresh at the on-campus Farmer's Market - every Tuesday on the South Walkway between 9AM-3PM. 

Basic Needs

The Basic Needs Program offers a multitude of resources on and off campus that will alleviate basic need challenges such as food, housing, transportation, or mental and health challenges.

Emergency Housing

This program serves students experiencing an unforeseen emergency crisis situation who have exhausted all sources of assistance including financial aid grants and loans. The services include short term emergency housing, faculty and staff student support grants, and more.

Male Success Alliance

MSA is an academic-focused support program and campus resource established to improve access, retention, and graduation for undergraduate men of color. Get in touch with the MSA at malesuccessalliance@gmail.com.
