About BSP
The purpose of the Beckman Scholars Program is to provide an in-depth, sustained undergraduate research experience for exceptionally talented, full-time undergraduate students at CSUDH. The Program provides financial support for a student and mentor over two consecutive summers and one academic year of research, in conjunction with the Annual Beckman Symposium, which offers an academically stimulating and unique educational experience.
Program Support
- Research and career mentoring from BSP faculty mentors
- Student Stipends $18,200 distributed as follows:
- First Summer (40/hr per wk) - $6,800
- Academic Year (10/hr per wk)- $4,600
- Second Summer (40/hr per wk)- $6,800
- Student Supplies and Travel- $2,800
- Mentor Stipend (supplies, travel, publication fees)- $5,000
- Attend the Annual Beckman Scholars Symposium
Eligibility and How to Apply
- Must be a full-time student and remain in good academic standing
- Must intend to pursue an advanced science degree (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD) after graduating from CSUDH
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the US or hold status as a DACA recipient
