Faculty and staff deserve a workplace free from interpersonal harm. CAPE can help staff and faculty understand their reporting options and access the resources to address situations, including university, criminal, or civil reporting processes. CAPE offers support for incidents occurring both on and off campus.
CAPE provides comprehensive support, focusing on how interpersonal harm can affect an individual’s sense of safety at work and home. Confidential support for staff and faculty is primarily provided by Mayra Romo, CAPE’s program director, who has advocated for faculty and staff across several campuses since 2010.
Support services may include:
CAPE is located inside the Student Health Center and is accessible by appointment only. However, we understand that staff and faculty may have unique confidentiality concerns, so we also offer appointments via phone or Zoom. To accommodate varying schedules, the CAPE program director is flexible and can meet after business hours or in the faculty's office. To make a specific request, please email Mayra Romo at mromo@csudh.edu or call (310) 243-2567.
CAPE is legally and ethically bound to keep the identities of all individuals seeking support completely confidential. We will only disclose the identity of someone we have served with their written consent or in response to a court-issued subpoena. Please contact us with any questions regarding confidentiality for those seeking CAPE services.
