Biography
Meredith L. Caliman is a full-time Lecturer of Business Law. She teaches all of the law courses at CSUDH including Law 240 (The Legal Environment of Business), Law 340 (Law of Business Organizations) and Law 342 (Employment Law). She is an advisor to the Pre-Law Society.
She received her AB in Politics from Princeton University in 1982 and her JD from UCLA School of Law in 1985. Before practicing law, she was a judicial law clerk to federal district judge in San Diego, the Honorable Earl B. Gilliam of the Southern District of California. Ms. Caliman worked at large and medium sized law firms in the Los Angeles area prior to opening her own office in October 2002.
Ms Caliman also maintains her law practice focused on counseling small and medium sized businesses and individuals, handling litigation and simple transactional matters, including civil actions, contracts, real estate, construction disputes and employment.
Ms Caliman is a native of Los Angeles, grew up in Gardena, California and greatly enjoys living in the South Bay area. She loves to travel, having first traveled outside the USA when she was 15 and her favorite experience was a 3 month solo backpacking trip around Europe after completing her clerkship. Other activities include reading (and being a member of book groups), and working with her church. She is married and has a son who attends the University of California.
