Biography

Dr. Sherine El Hag earned a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Claremont Graduate University (CGU), an MBA degree from the Drucker School of Management, and an MA degree in Economics from CGU. She has more than ten publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her recent paper “Implications of 2017 French Election on the Future of the Euro and EU” has been accepted for publication in volume 28 issue 3 (2017) in the Current Politics and Economics of Europe Journal. Her research interest includes international money and finance, economic development, macroeconomics, international trade, new energy, comparative and financial markets, economic policy, international financial crises, economic analysis of national and international economic policies. Specifically, she’s interested in studying how poor regulations in some EU countries and failure of the financial markets to predict fiscal problems, and real estate bubble triggered the financial crisis in many European crisis. She has received a Grant Proposal Award (Principal Investigator) from the Research Foundation of State University of New York in Feb. 2014 regarding “The Socio-Economic Impact of The Use of New Types of Energy in New York State.” She has an extensive teaching experience spanning over fourteen years. She’s currently working as a Full-Time Lecturer at CSUDH. She has previously worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Loyola Marymount University and Chapman University, as an Assistant Professor in Economics at Alfred State University, and as a lecturer at University of California Irvine (UCI).

She has taught numerous classes in International Economics, Macroeconomics, both for graduate and undergraduate levels, Managerial Economics, Financial Economics, International Money and Finance, Money and Banking, Economic Development, International Trade, Global Business, Quality Management, and Microeconomics. In addition to her academic background and experience, Dr. El Hag has held various non-academic positions and supervisory positions.
