American Language & Culture Program

Intensive English Program (IEP)

IEP offers an eight-week Intensive English Program six times a year in exciting Los Angeles for ESL students with academic or professional goals, including passing the TOEFL for entrance into an American university. The 21-26 hours per week IEP offers a coordinated program of conversation, grammar, writing, reading/vocabulary, pronunciation and listening. Students from all over the world enroll in this multi-level program and can continue to improve their skills by advancing from session to session. Qualified students from outside the U.S. are eligible for a student visa. Individual courses may also be taken by part-time students. A Certificate of Achievement is awarded after successful completion of at least one eight-week session.

Vacation Study

The American Language and Culture Program creates custom programs for schools, businesses, governments and travel agencies. Programs are designed and delivered to meet the needs of the participants and their sponsors. Programs are typically designed around a core of English language skills and American culture. However, a wide range of academic, cultural and activity programs are available.

International Training Programs

Like our vacation study programs, many of our business, government and enterprise training programs take advantage of our Southern California setting to mix business with pleasure. We can offer training in a variety of discipline and industries. If you can imagine it we can create it. In the past we have delivered programs for local governments such as the City of Los Angeles and businesses such as Neutrogena, Toyota, Hyundai and many others. We have delivered programs for the Chinese, Turkish, Korean and other governments as well as for prestigious universities and private schools from around the world.

Our mission is to reach out to the world communities to share in their economic, cultural and social development. We believe such efforts benefit not only the communities we serve, but also the University.

In particular, our International Training Program provides a wide range of services and information for diverse audiences that include government officials, business executives, scholars and students. We can customize a variety of academic programs, including classroom instruction, on-site visits, internships and corporate networking opportunities.
