Hello, my name is Cristina Prado, I attended Los Angeles Harbor College from 2003-2007 where I completed two Associate Degrees, one in Liberal Arts and the other one in Computer Applications and Office Technology with an emphasis in Administrative Assistant. I then transferred to California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) were I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (2011) and my Master of Arts in Sociology (2014). I began working at CSUDH in 2008 as an Administrative Support Assistant/Coordinator for the School of Nursing, then in 2017 was able to become the College of Health, Human Services, & Nursing (CHHSN) college scheduler providing me with a wide variety of new knowledge. The opportunity of my dreams came in 2018 when I was hired as an academic advisor for the CHHSN Student Success Center (previously known as CHHSN Student Services Center). I am a first-generation college student who with the support of my family have defeated the odds of graduating from higher education.
I am very grateful to my parents who taught me to work hard for what I want and to my older sibling (you know who you are) who has been my perfect role model. I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it’s at home, at the park, or just relaxing.
