Hello. I am Lisa Langford, and I serve as the Director for the CHHSN Student Success Center.  I have worked at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) for over 20 years. As a transfer student, from Los Angeles Harbor College, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with the goal to help other students succeed. In 2011, completed a Masters in Counseling Education at CSUDH. In 2013, I obtained the position of Academic Advisor for Child Development, while completing a second Masters in Higher Education at Walden University in 2017.

Our advising philosophy is assets based counseling under the Appreciative Advising Model.  We support students to obtain their goals empowering choice, providing direction, and taking action to succeed. In the CHHSN Student Success Center our goals are to provide a culturally inclusive, readily access space for students to thrive through 1:1 counseling, workshops, and peer to peer interactions.

My greatest accomplishment in life is being a mother and grandmother embracing every opportunity to share knowledge and experiences to improve the quality of life for my family.
