My broad interest is in children’s social development, and I am particularly interested in how we understand social competence as a function of how we measure/study it. My research has focused on children’s conflict resolution strategies with friends. Initially I studied the linkage between children’s conflict resolution strategies with friends and their conflict resolution strategies with parents. I am currently focusing on studying children’s conflict resolution strategies in different contexts (culture and SES) and the role of the self in how children resolve conflicts.
