Bio

Dr. Radmacher is a developmental psychologist and has been committed to student learning since she began teaching in 2000. Her research centers on the social and emotional development of adolescents and emerging adults with an emphasis on identity development and relationship processes with friends and family. She examines the everyday experiences that adolescents and emerging adults share with their friends and family to understand whether and how these experiences prompt them to explore the different aspects of their lives and how they use these experiences to consolidate a sense of self and purpose in the world. Her current research bridges the work on social class, stigma, and identity development to examine young adults’ conceptions of social class and the processes through which they come to perceive social class as an aspect of their own identity as well as its intersection with other social identities such as gender and ethnicity.
