Child Development Center (CDC)

The Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Child Development Center (CDC) is dedicated to creating an environment that supports the unique developmental needs of each child. We believe that understanding how children’s abilities progress, along with providing a rich academic program that balances teacher-guided and child-initiated experiences, is crucial in fostering physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth—key components of school readiness and preparation for kindergarten. We are committed to treating children with respect, courtesy, dignity, patience, and compassion. Through interactions with their environment, materials, and peers, children develop essential skills such as respect, self-regulation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and empathy.

Recognizing that parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers, our staff actively partners with families to support their child’s development. We believe that strong family and community connections are vital to early childhood education, providing a foundation for children’s growth and learning. The CDC promotes a sense of belonging and collaboration among families, educators, and the community, ensuring children have access to high-quality early learning experiences. Through this network, parents gain access to valuable resources and professional support, strengthening their role in advocating for their child’s well-being.

The ASI Child Development Center offers early childhood education services for children of student parents, staff, faculty, and the community. Our comprehensive program provides a nurturing, high quality learning environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years.  Conveniently located northeast of the Birchknoll Drive entrance to campus, adjacent to Gate F and Parking Lot 1, we are open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information, please call (310) 243-1015 or visit our website.
