Application Deadline

Please Note: Official transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office prior to the deadline.

Helpful tips to ensure your transcripts are received:

  • Submit your Cal State Apply application prior to sending official transcripts from your former institutions.
  • Use the same name on your Cal State Apply application as on your transcripts (if your name has changed, indicate this in your transcript order).

Application Procedures

Apply

Complete the Graduate Online Application at Cal State Apply. The University application requires a $70 non-refundable application fee. Visit the Graduate Studies Application Guide for more information. You will apply for Education: Dual Language Learner Certificate.

Official Transcripts

After you have completed the application in Cal State Apply, but before the application deadline, submit one official electronic set of transcripts for all undergraduate and any post-graduate work. Electronic official transcripts from domestic institutions are encouraged and preferred to be sent to admissions@csudh.edu. Transcripts are considered official only when sent directly from the issuing institution to the CSUDH Office of Admissions:

GPA

A minimum of 2.75 grade point average in the last 60 units of upper division course work attempted is requested.  Applicants who do not meet this criteria will need to submit a Low GPA Petition for Exception.

Statement of Purpose

Please submit statement that addresses the following question (must be written in Spanish):

Qué significan los programas de doble inmersión para ti o para la comunidad en dónde trabajas?​ (Escribe por lo menos dos páginas.)

Teaching Credential

Please upload a copy of your valid initial credential (e.g. California Level I or Preliminary).

Upon completion, please allow 4-6 weeks for your application to be processed. For questions regarding your program application contact the COE Admission Unit at (310) 243-3530. You will receive an email with your admissions decision.
