Teacher Induction Application Procedures

Application Deadlines

Fall: June 1st

Spring: November 1st

Please Note: Official transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office prior to the deadline.

Helpful tips to ensure your transcripts are received:

  • Submit your Cal State Apply application prior to sending official transcripts from your former institutions.
  • Use the same name on your Cal State Apply application as on your transcripts (if your name has changed, indicate this in your transcript order).

Application Procedures

Apply

Complete the Graduate Online Application at Cal State Apply. The University application requires a $70 non-refundable application fee. Visit the Graduate Studies Application Guide for more information. You will apply to the Teacher Induction Credential.

Official Transcripts

After you have completed the application in Cal State Apply, but before the application deadline, submit one official electronic set of transcripts for all undergraduate and any post-graduate work. Electronic official transcripts from domestic institutions are encouraged and preferred to be sent to admissions@csudh.edu. Transcripts are considered official only when sent directly from the issuing institution to the CSUDH Office of Admissions:

GPA

Applicants are expected to have a minimum of 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in the last 60 semester units of upper division and post baccalaureate work OR a combined score of 1000 or better on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). If you do NOT meet this requirement, submit a Low GPA Petition for Exception.

Teaching Credential

Please upload copy of valid initial California teaching credential (e.g., Level I or Preliminary).

Teacher Induction Employer Support Form

Completed and signed Teacher Induction Employer Support Form (employer must provide candidate with a site-based mentor with “alike” credential).

Work Experience

Please upload copy of your verification of current full-time employment in an appropriate teaching position in a public school, non-public school (NPS) or charter school. Verification must be on district or employing agency letterhead and signed by the superintendent, assistant superintendent, director of personnel, or director of human resources. Verification must include employment dates.

Upon completion, please allow 4-6 weeks for your application to be processed.
