Dr. Miriam Hernández is an assistant professor in the Advertising and Public Relations program in the Communications Department at California State University – Dominguez Hills. She obtained her Ph.D. in Communication from City University of Hong Kong and was a post-doctoral research fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She holds an M.A. in Political Analysis & Media from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico. Her research interests include public relations & strategic communication, political communication, Latino and gender issues in the creation and contestation of traditional and online media content. Dr. Hernández’s academic work has been published in journals such as Journalism Studies, Violence against Women and Palabra Clave.
