The University’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) states that the “Campus-wide safety committee shall consist of union representatives from all bargaining units, management representatives, and invited guests. Union and management representatives are charged with reporting safety concerns for their representative areas to the committee as well as communicating findings, activities, and new safety orders discussed at safety meetings to their constituents”. In addition to these duties, committee members should actively promote health and safety in their respective areas.
The CSUDH Campus-Wide Health and Safety Committee has been formed and organized for the express purpose of promoting, supporting, and improving the safety of all participants at the university. This is the fundamental function of this committee.
