Randolph Cauthen has a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville, an M.A. in Creative Writing from Syracuse University, and a B.A. in English from Pomona College. His chapbooks of poetry are The Use of Force, Slow Night, and Wall of Meat. His scholarship in Rhetoric and Composition includes Black Letters: An Ethnography of a Beginning Legal Writing Course and articles about the rhetorics of/about the Occupy Movement, uses of Utopia Studies in the writing classroom, and the rhetorics surrounding law in movies about the American South.
