In 2020-21, sixty CSUDH faculty members participated in an initiative to support student success by taking a 25-week course in Effective Online Teaching Practices. The course is offered by the Association of College and University Educators and faculty to learn instructional skills shown to improve student achievement and close opportunity gaps. Faculty at Dominguez Hills joined faculty from seven other CSU campuses in ACUE’s course, which is based on more than three decades of research that shows that effective teaching improves learning for all students. According to independently validated research, students, particularly those who are underserved, are more engaged, learn more, and complete courses in greater numbers when taught by ACUE-credentialed faculty.
Faculty who completed the course requirements were awarded a nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction that is co-endorsed by Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and the American Council on Education (ACE).
