The Faculty Development Center is excited to offer CSUDH faculty an opportunity to refine their teaching practices in 2022-23 through a continued partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE).

Complete the Effective Online Teaching Practices Course and earn a Certificate in Effective College Instruction endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE)!

Since 2020, over 75 CSUDH faculty members have received Certificates in Effective College Instruction.

          PROGRAM DETAILS

          COURSE INFORMATION

          • Course start date: 9/19/2022
          • Course end date: 5/7/2022
          • 25 asynchronous modules, with one module delivered per week

          HOW WILL FACULTY BE SELECTED?

            • Any faculty member who is interested should apply!
            • Faculty must be able to commit roughly 3 hours per week to the course
            • Faculty must be actively teaching in both semesters of the 2022-23 academic year
            • Must submit a thoughtful self-reflective short essay as to why they are interested in this course
            • Faculty meeting one or more of the following criteria will have preference:
              • teaching influential courses (typically lower division general education courses where a smaller percentage of students successfully complete the course)
              • teaching lower and/or upper-division general education courses
              • teaching gateway courses in the major
              • previously applied but were not accepted
              • newer faculty
              • coordinated teams of faculty from a department or college
            • RECEIVE A $1000 STIPEND AND A CERTIFICATE IN EFFECTIVE COLLEGE INSTRUCTION

              • Complete ALL activities in the 25 modules of the course

              IMPORTANT INFORMATION

              • Applications are due by 5 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022.
              • Once we receive and review your application, you will receive a follow-up email regarding acceptance.
              • If you are accepted to the course, your name and information will be automatically forwarded to ACUE and you will receive further instructions from ACUE about how to enroll in the course.
              • Faculty accepted to the course should plan to attend the course launch (orientation) which will be held prior to September 19, 2022. Dates and times to be determined.
