Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholars Program is the Premier Scholarship Program at CSUDH. This prestigious program recognizes excellence by providing outstanding students from our community greater opportunities to further their education and fulfill their potential. The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, community and campus involvement, and strong leadership qualities. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to first-year students for four years, and to transfer students for two years.

Requirements:
- Minimum weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5
- Documentation demonstrating vigorous community service
- Documentation highlighting leadership roles
- All First Time Freshmen applicants must graduate from a California High School
- All Transfer applicants must transfer directly from a California Community College
- Applicants must be admitted to CSUDH to apply
How to Apply:
- Write an essay that addresses your reasons for applying to CSUDH and the Presidential Scholarship Program. Include information about how CSUDH will help you achieve your educational and career goals, and how you plan to contribute to the CSUDH community of talented and diverse students and scholars and your local community. The essay should not exceed 600 words.
- Prepare and submit a document that lists your awards and honors, school/college-related activities, community service, work experience, leadership, and other notable achievements.
- You will need the email address of at least one faculty member, counselor, employer, or mentor to request at least one letter of recommendation. Please request the letter from someone that knows you well and can attest to your academic, leadership, and community endeavors.
- After initial screening of applications, selected students will be invited to attend an interview in March and April with the Presidential Scholars Selection Committee.

*As a Presidential Scholarship recipient, you are receiving the most prestigious award offered to any newly admitted undergraduate student at CSUDH and therefore are not eligible to receive the following scholarships: Katherine B. Loker Scholarship, Honors Scholarship, CSU Future Scholars Scholarship, James and Jocelyn Lyons Scholarship, Lucia and Leopoldo García Scholarship, Osher Transfer Student Scholarship, Vic and Curly, and Crankstart Scholarship for Community College Transfer Students.
