Your vote counts!!! CSUDH, as a public university, complies with the National Voter Registration Act to make voter registration forms and information available to all enrolled students. This federal and state legislation reinforces the university’s long-standing goals of supporting student leadership and citizenship.
The university does not endorse candidates, take political stands, or endorse or oppose legislation.
There are several ways to register to vote:
It is important for members of the campus community to understand the rules and regulations involving public employees and political activities. Read the Election Standards Do's and Don'ts [PDF] for guidance.
In order to register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of California, and at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election.
You may register to vote either at your college address or at your hometown (or parent’s) address. If you register at your hometown address and want to vote while attending college, you must remember to request an absentee ballot at least 30 days before the election. Check with your state election board for the exact deadline.
Although an eligible citizen may register to vote at any time, no person is eligible to vote unless they are registered on or before 15 days prior to the election.
Your registration card should include the address of your polling place. Many jurisdictions also send additional informational materials to registered voters. If you do not receive the information in the mail, call the local election office at (800) 815-2666. To find your local polling place, please visit the L.A. County Polling Place Look-up website.
You need to re-register if you move, change your name, wish to change political party affiliation, or if your signature has changed.
