Dr. Wendella Wray is a faculty member in the Division Health Sciences at CSUDH. She teaches various courses in the health sciences (i.e., HEA 315 Interpersonal Skills in Health Communication, HEA 319 Leadership in Healthcare, HEA 318 Health Services Management etc.) to help students develop into exceptional leaders. As a clinician, Dr. Wray owns a private practice and helps individuals, couples, and families to heal from past trauma and develop healthy attachments and relationships to increase well-being. Dr. Wray’s interest and research focuses on relational healthy leadership and how the systemic effects of poverty, trauma, racism, inequalities, and health disparities relate to mental and physical health. Dr. Wray is also a published author, public speaker, and a consultant. She works with organizations to create safe environments, increase emotional intelligence, diversity, and conducts program evaluations. Dr. Wray’s goal is to promote healthy behaviors, communication and create safe spaces by creating awareness amongst health professionals about systemic inequities and unconscious biases. Dr. Wray’s goal is to increase empathy, equity and create systemic change. Dr. Wray is the chair and a founding member of the equity, inclusion, and racial justice (EIRJ) committee at CSUDH.
