Since 1999, Dr. Wenli Jen has served as a consultant in education, health and business. Dr. Jen is a consultant, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and professor. For over a decade, Dr. Jen directed programs in gang prevention, child abuse prevention, and substance abuse prevention and worked with public and community health initiatives. She has developed several programs for at-risk youth and families, with special considerations for low-income and underrepresented populations with culturally competent, best practices. Outside of her work in mental and behavioral healthcare, her focus on prevention programs extends to youth mentorship, youth development and youth leadership.

While she continues the work as a consultant, Dr. Jen is also a lecturer at California State University, Dominguez Hills in health science, with emphasis in methods in health education, community organizing and building, and health behavior. Other courses that Dr. Jen teaches include: Multicultural Health and Program Implementation and Evaluation. Dr. Jen also teaches Introduction to Asian American Studies and Contemporary Issues in Asian American Communities through the College of Arts and Humanities at CSUDH. She has also taught research design and data analysis and learning in psychology at the University of the West in the Department of Psychology. Additionally, she was a faculty member in business ethics and leadership at California Institute of Advancement Management’s executive MBA program and currently serves as a consultant to the President's advisory board in governance and university operations. Dr. Jen currently serves as the Faculty Fellow from the College of Health, Human Services and Nursing for University Advisement Center at CSUDH. 

Dr. Jen speaks about community collaboration, social issues, education and other related topics at international, national and state conferences. She has also been a featured speaker at Society of Public Health Education (SOPHE) and Art and Science of Health Promotion conferences. Her expertise in human development, psychology, and education connects to her work in leadership, strategic planning, community/government relations, workforce development, program design, development, implementation and evaluation. Her interests include working with diverse populations in developing strategies to increase motivation, reduce social isolation, promote resiliency and provide alternatives for health and wellness. Dr. Jen provides consultation in health practices such as mindfulness and meditation, which are incorporated in program design, leadership development and practical applications. Her twenty-year experience working with underrepresented populations also include culturally-responsive program development, implementation and evaluation for communities of color.  

Dr. Jen is the Chief Executive Officer for the Southern California boutique consulting firm Integral Prudence Solutions. In 2016, she began her appointment for the U.S. Health and Human Services SAMHSA Center for Mental Health Services National Advisory Council and has served as the only Asian American woman on the council.

Dr. Jen's 15-year career in motivational speaking has culminated to her TEDx talks for TEDxPCC in repurposing negative energy and TEDxCityofIndustry Youth in "Dare to Be My Age." While Dr. Jen continues to organize, plan and coordinate large-scale events for nearly 20 years, she is also involved in helping to coordinate events for nonprofit organizations and businesses. She continues to serve as the regional co-chair for Harvard Graduate School of Education in addition to the Alumni Chapter advisory group for UC Irvine's School of Education. She was the past President of United Nations Association – Pasadena and serves as an active member and current officer for Chinese Americans Citizens Alliance - Los Angeles Lodge. Her work with CACA-LA includes the Congressional Gold Medal recognition project for Chinese American World War II Veterans. Moreover, Dr. Jen participates in multiple community coalitions and groups that foster and support AAPINH efforts, which includes her work with Sierra Madre Playhouse Asian American Cultural Alliance. Other volunteer work includes being a mentor for the APASS (Asian Pacific American Student Services) program at USC for five years. She has served in leadership roles for organizations such as the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Women’s Political Caucus – LA Metro and Public Media Group of Southern California (formerly PBS SoCal Community Council). Additionally, Dr. Jen is a licensed esthetician and California credentialed teacher and administrator.

  • 2015 Leadership Recognition, where she received recognition from Beijing University of Technology Department of Economics for her leadership and service to the local and international community
