Students take this elective course to prepare for travel and Health Sciences related projects while in Thailand. During their two-week visit, students spend time in Bangkok at Mahidol University where they learn about the Thai health system. They then travel to rural areas and live with families (homestay) to learn about community health. Students learn about migrant health, holistic and natural medicine, vector control and other public health issues in Thailand. These subjects vary from year to year depending on what students prioritize and what projects are available. Interspersed are cultural excursions and site seeing. Upon return students share their personal, academic, cultural, and experiences.
