Healthcare Management Option

Healthcare Management is a program option designed to provide students with a general foundation in the principles and theories of management needed by frontline or middle level supervisors in a healthcare setting. Additionally, will gain an understanding of the organizational structure of the health care system, the financing of health care services in the United States, and knowledge of current health policies at local, state, and federal levels.

The Healthcare Management option is designed for both potential healthcare personnel and currently practicing professionals that wish to continue their education.  About half of the students are employed in various health related roles. Since nearly all the students work during the day, most School of Public Health and Health Sciences courses are offered in the late afternoon, evening or weekend, and must meet only once a week. To keep the School of Public Health and Health Sciences program contemporary, many of the School of Public Health and Health Sciences courses are taught by practicing professionals.
