Dr. Erika Endrijonas/Biography

Dr. Erika Endrijonas began teaching in the History Department at California State University, Dominguez Hills in Spring 1999. After teaching a variety of History classes, she switched to the Humanities Department in Fall 2000. She has taught the following Humanities courses face-to-face - Literature and the Rights of Women and Success and Values in the United States - and she currently teaches Success and Values and Death and Dying online.

Dr. Endrijonas earned her bachelor's degree in History at California State University, Northridge, and her Master's and Ph.D. degrees in History at the University of Southern California. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in the Study of Women and Men in Society at USC. Her dissertation was entitled No Experience Required: Middle Class Families and Their Cookbooks, 1945-1960. She has also published one article based on her dissertation, in addition to an article on Betty Crocker.

Dr. Endrijonas currently serves as Dean of Educational Programs at Santa Barbara City College where she oversees three divisions - Business, Health and Human Services, Technologies - as well as the Children's Center and the School of Culinary Arts. She also writes and manages federal and state grants, including a National Science Foundation grant to teach students media production for mobile devices.
