Admission
Admission to the MPA program is a two-step process as applicants must first meet the University requirements in addition to the Program requirements.
Minimum CSUDH Admission Requirements
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Must be in good standing at the last institution attended. - Minimum GPA of 2.5 either cumulatively or in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units.
- International Applicants Only: Attain a minimum score of 550 paper-based, 213 CBT or 80 IBT on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test OR attain a minimum score of 6.5 overall on the International English Testing System (IELTS) test. The TOEFL or the ILETS is required for all applicants who have received all, or a significant portion, of their education in a language other than English. Additional MPA Department Admission Requirements
- Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) upper division units OR 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Statement of Purpose detailing your background, career path, professional interests, and how you plan to use your MPA degree.
- If applicant's GPA falls below the minimum requirements, two letters of recommendation from academic or professional references are required.
*Anyone applying after the Program Application Deadline may not receive financial aid by the tuition payment deadline.
