Lucia Galante Johnson

Lucia Galante Johnson is an adjunct assistant professor for the Master of Arts program in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding (NCRP) at CSUDH. Professor Johnson has served as a conflict resolution manager, mediator, group facilitator, and ombuds for many years. She brings a wealth of knowledge both from her court experience and private practice. She is an Associate Professor and Lead Faculty for Family & Probate Mediation, Restorative Justice Practices, and Conflict in Schools.

Professor Johnson has a background in International Relations from the Institute for Peace and Justice through the University of San Diego. She took this experience to Washington, D.C., where she worked for members of Congress.

Professor Johnson is no stranger to the education community. She is a former board member of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and served as a Special Education instructor for Middle and High School students in South Central Los Angeles, Compton, Redondo Beach, and East Los Angeles. In addition, she has served on the board of the Southern California Mediation Association and as a Commissioner for the Los Angeles County Board of Hospitals and Patient Care. She has a master's degree from the school of Sociology with an emphasis on Family and Human Development (FHD) along with professional training in Conflict Resolution Management and Mediation from Loyola Law School
