For over 30 years, Dr. Pamela Kreiser has trained individuals to become better communicators. She specializes in communication in close relationships frequently speaking on topics such as conflict management, mediation and resolution, message construction and analysis, intimate communication, and quantitative methods. She has written over 15 scholarly papers and published chapters in academic books such as Power in the Classroom and Strategic Interpersonal Communication. Further, Professor Kreiser has co-authored articles in professional journals such as Communication Education.
Professor Kreiser earned a Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication with a specialization in Quantitative Methods from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Interpersonal Communication with a specialization in Conflict from San Jose State University, and a B.A. in Speech Communication from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Currently, Professor Kreiser serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding (NCRP) Master of Arts Program. Additionally, she teaches full-time in the Department of Communication Studies at California State University, Long Beach. She is known for her teaching excellence. Some of her recent awards include: Inspirational Faculty Member (Equal Opportunity Program), Inspirational Faculty (Equal Opportunity Program), Most Inspirational Professor (CSULB Alumni Association), Most Inspirational Faculty Member (President’s Scholars Program) and University of Memphis Women’s History Month Award Winner. Professor Kreiser serves regularly as a Senior Lead Mediator in the California Superior Court system. She holds a DRPA Mediation Certificate. Previously, Professor Kreiser served as a consultant to the Eureka School system in School Based Mediation.
