Course Description

Developing an Effective Hotel Housekeeping Musculoskeletal InjuryPrevention ProgramThis course will discuss Cal/OSHA’s requirement for employers in the hospitality industry to develop and implement an effective Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Program (MIPP). Participants will develop strategies for creating and updating existing MIPP. Special emphasis will be placed on the seven key elements of an effective MIPP including training and record keeping.

The course will cover common barriers faced by management when implementing an MIPP for the first time as well as common barriers faced once the program is introduced to management and workers.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain the importance of an MIPP and why it came into existence
  2. Describe the key elements of an MIPP including training and record keeping
  3. Develop strategies to implement an effective MIPP
  4. Identify potential musculoskeletal injuries that could be prevented
  5. Draft a preliminary MIPP
