BIO

Daniel Swiatek, OTD, OTR/L, is an assistant professor in occupational therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dr. Swiatek is also the current Academic Fieldwork Coordinator with over 25 years clinical experience as an occupational therapist and has practiced in acute, skilled nursing, and home health settings. His expertise areas include clinical operations and management, geriatrics, and addressing health care inequalities in gender minority populations.  

SCHOLARSHIP AGENDA

As the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Dr. Swiatek's scholarship of integration is addressed through the relationships established with interprofessional colleagues (Fieldwork Educators) such as directors of rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapy practitioners, as well as other professionals. Dr. Swiatek's scholarship of application is built into his role of mentor and advisor to ensure the most successful fieldwork experience for CSUDH MSOT students.  His scholarship of discovery is reflected in his writings and research addressing health care inequalities among marginalized, underserved populations which has appeared in OT Practice, The Open Journal of Occupational Therapy, and the Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice.
