Dr. Kamal Hamdan

Honored with CSUDH’s Faculty Excellence Award in 2002, Dr. Kamal Hamden is the first director of CISE, a regional program that was established as the umbrella organization for all CSUDH STEM educational programs. The center was designed to increase the number of credential teachers in STEM education, and to bring STEM to the forefront of K-16 education through leadership and service.

Dr. Hamdan is a proud Toro (’94, M.A., educational administration),  who began teaching in CSUDH’s College of Education in 2000, during which time he has developed and implemented a variety of innovative teacher education programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, as well as for general and special education teachers.

Hamdan is the Wallis Annenberg Endowed Professor for Innovation in STEM Education through a $1 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation.
