The College of Business Administration and Public Policy awarded approximately $37,200 to CBAPP students for the 2023-2024 academic year. CBAPP scholarship applications are usually made available in the spring semester for award distribution in the next academic year. These scholarships are only available to students with declared majors in the College of Business Administration and Public Policy who meet the eligibility criteria.

Students should prepare a personal statement prior to starting the application, then copy and paste the statement into the online application. Students should also download their unofficial transcripts for free in MyCSUDH > Student Center > Academic Requirements and then upload them to the application.

The CBAPP scholarships that are usually available each year are noted below. Students must maintain all eligibility criteria during the award year in order to be awarded scholarship funds.

CBAPP Advisory Board Scholarship | $1,000 | •be a current CSUDH CBAPP student •be a senior in the award year •possess an upper-division major GPA of 3.0 or better in courses completed at CSUDH •be enrolled in at least 12 units during the semester for which student applies for the scholarship •demonstrate financial hardship via personal statement |
CBAPP Alumni Endowed Scholarship | $1,500 | •be a CBAPP student •demonstrate financial need via personal statement |
CBAPP General Scholarship | $4,150 | •be a current CSUDH CBAPP student •be a junior or senior •possess an upper-division major GPA of 3.0 or better in courses completed at CSUDH •be enrolled in at least 12 units during the semester for which student applies for the scholarship |
Chiou-Hsiung "Bear" Chang Scholarship | $5,000 | •be a CSUDH student in good academic standing •have a declared major within CSUDH’s CBAPP •indicated their intention to graduate from CBAPP •applicants must submit a short personal statement |
Gil & Shirley Smith Scholarship | $950 | •demonstrate a need for financial assistance •be a continuing undergraduate CSUDH CBAPP student with at least one semester of coursework remaining •possess a minimum 3.0 GPA, either major or overall •must be a continuing student in the academic year of the award |
Jerry Groomes Endowed Scholarship | $1,000 | •be a CSUDH graduate or undergraduate student majoring in Public Administration •be enrolled in classes at CSUDH during the semester for which he/she applies for the scholarship •possess a minimum 3.0 GPA, either major or overall •be in good academic standing with the university during tenure of the scholarship |
Krushkhov Memorial Scholarship | $500 | •be an undergraduate or graduate student with a declared major in Public Administration •possess an interest or career goals in municipal administration or urban planning, or doing important research on urban issues via personal statement •demonstrate financial need via personal statement •have an excellent academic record |
