Summer 2025 application Open: March 1-April 15

The BSN Summer Fast Track (BSN SFT) Program is an online, jump-start program specifically for students who are enrolled in a regionally accredited Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program in California. BSN SFT courses are offered in the summer term only. ADN students are eligible for this program if they have enrolled in at least one semester of their ADN program prior to their BSN SFT summer term. BSN SFT students are not formally accepted to CSUDH, but attend classes through College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) Special Sessions. This does not guarantee admission to the RN-BSN Program since students must still submit an application to the regular RN-BSN program and meet RN-BSN program and University requirements.

APPLICATION & ENROLLMENT

Beginning March 1, 2025 the application to the BSN SFT program will open and will close April 15, 2025. Students must also upload, into the application, a PDF of their unofficial transcript showing current enrollment in at least one semester of their ADN program in the Spring semester before starting the BSN SFT program. Those who graduated from their ADN program in the prior Fall semester are also eligible.
Once accepted into the BSN SFT, students will be contacted with information about how to enroll in and pay for their BSN SFT courses from May 1- May 22, 2025.
Enrolled students will be contacted after enrollment closes, to sign-up for one day of a zoom orientation if this is their first Summer in the BSN SFT program. Orientation will be May 29, 2025 10am to 11am via zoom.
A limited number of seats are available for each Summer 1 and Summer 2 term. Only complete, accurate applications will be considered. Please fill out the application with care.
A new application must be submitted for each Summer a student would like to enroll, even if they have already attended the BSN SFT in a prior summer.

Students apply online via webform application March 1-April 15

BSN Program Specialist Reviews applications and transcripts for eligibility and to verify course requests and assignments

BSN Associate Director reviews course assignments and gives approval.

Approved student lists are transferred to CCPE.

CCPE emails students with their approved courses, Toro ID#, Toromail address and online enrollment instructions.

Students will enroll online in their approved courses May 1- 22, 2025. Payment will be required at time of enrollment.

Once students are enrolled, the BSN Program Specialist will email them with Orientation registration information. Orientation is May 29, 2025 10am-11am via zoom.

COSTS

Tuition will be paid to College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) at the time of registration and is offered at a reduced rate ($285 per unit). No financial aid is available, however, CCPE may offer a payment plan.
Books for each course can be found online via the University Bookstore.

COURSES

The 2025 BSN SFT courses are to be held June 2 to August 16, 2025.
All classes are online using Canvas. There is a prescribed curriculum and students are only allowed to take up to 6 units per summer.
Students who participate in both summers of the BSN SFT program may be able to finish their degrees in as little as two semesters once they are formally admitted into the RN-BSN program.*

* To graduate in two semesters students must meet all University degree and BSN program requirements.

NOTE: BRN approved but not regionally accredited programs are not transferable.

International Students with a Student Visa are not eligible for the BSN Summer Fast Track program.

Who is eligible for the BSN Summer Fast Track program?

The BSN SFT is for students who are enrolled in a regionally accredited Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program in California at the time of application or who have recently graduated from their ADN program in the Fall semester prior.

Additionally, those who have graduated in a Fall semester and would like to participate in the upcoming BSN SFT, must also have applied to start the RN-BSN program the following Fall semester.

Are both Summer 1 & Summer 2 in the same summer term? Are both required?

No. Summer 1 is done in one year and Summer 2 is done the next year.

Students may attend just Summer 1 and during Summer 1 students may opt to take just one course. If students only take one course, it must be BSN 302 since this is the first course in the program.

If I attend BSN SFT do I still have to attend the RN-BSN program?

Yes. The BSN SFT is an opportunity to get a jump start on the regular RN-BSN classes while a student is still in their ADN program and not yet an official CSUDH student.

When the student anticipates graduating from their ADN program determines the window in which they are eligible to apply to the RN-BSN program.

Am I guaranteed admission to the RN-BSN program if I participate in the BSN Summer Fast Track?

We cannot guarantee admission to the RN-BSN program by virtue of participating in the BSN Summer Fast-Track program. However, our RN-BSN program is not currently impacted, and we typically have not denied entry to students who meet University and RN-BSN program admission criteria.
