Our division aims to provide professional development opportunities that support growth, engagement and the development of critical skills that prepare you for the future. Student Affairs Division Meetings

Regular Division Meetings allow the Student Affairs Leadership Team to share updates about the university and within the division. During these meetings, we share progress toward goals, discuss initiatives that are underway, and review the progress, outcomes and successes within Student Affairs. Meetings will be held throughout the year and all employees from Student Affairs are encouraged to attend. Staff and administrators within Student Affairs will receive additional information via email about division meetings.

Student Affairs Manager’s Training

Student Affairs Manager’s Training offers managers within the Division of Student Affairs the opportunity to participate and engage in a collaborative program across the division that is designed to enhance leadership skills and learning for those in management positions. Participants will engage in relevant discussions about leadership topics and critical issues in higher education.

    Goals

    • Provide opportunities for managers to engage in culturally relevant and equity-centered discussions
    • Prepare managers for administrative advancement through strategic leadership experiences
    • Increase knowledge of higher education systems, policies and processes
    • Provide intentional experiences that support managers personal and professional goals

Conferences, Retreats and Additional Professional Development Opportunities

The Division of Student Affairs encourages employees to seek out opportunities for professional development through organizations, conferences, and retreats. Professional development retreats are hosted throughout the year in various settings. Employees looking to attend a professional development conference, or who are seeking out other professional development opportunities, should speak with their manager. Managers are encouraged to reach out to the appropriate administrator within the Student Affairs Leadership Team for concerns of funding or additional inquiries regarding feasibility. The Division of Student Affairs encourages managers to speak with their administrators about additional creative opportunities to engage employees with organizations and affiliations for professional development.

For questions regarding Professional Development, please consult with your Associate Vice President or Director who serves as part of the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
