Grading Policies

A number of CSUDH policies apply to grades, how they are issued, our repeat/delete policy, minimum GPA requirements, etc. These policies are maintained by the Registrar's Office. 

Grade Appeals

Sometimes a student may feel that they did not receive the grade they deserved. CSUDH's Grade Appeal Process allows for a process by which students may seek a change in their grade. Details of the Grade Appeal Process [PDF].

Student's Right to Access

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act [PDF], students are guaranteed access to their personal records. In addition, FERPA protects the records from being seen by individuals who are not employed by the university. Most university employees are limited in their access to student records. This access is provided on an as-needed basis only.

Disabled Student Policies & Grievance Procedures

CSUDH is dedicated to providing access to disabled students, and has many policies directed to that end. A grievance process has been established for disabled students who feel that they are not receiving reasonable accommodations or are confronted with another learning obstacle. Policies and Procedures Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation, Sexual Misconduct, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking

The campus embraces and encourages our community differences in age, disability (physical and mental), gender (or sex), gender identity (including transgender), gender expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, nationality, race, or ethnicity (including color or ancestry), religion (or religious creed), sexual orientation, veteran or military status, and other characteristics that make our community unique. All students have the right to participate fully in CSU programs and activities free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The CSU prohibits harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, as well as sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. Such misconduct violates university policy and may also violate state or federal law.
