We have a culturally and professionally diverse faculty that is committed to training and providing performance opportunities for BIPOC students. We regularly bring in guest artists to work with our students, help them learn new skills, and connect them with professionals in the industry.
Dance currently produces two mainstage dance performances each year; one of which uses only student choreographers. We also offer other dance performance opportunities both on campus and off, through MOSAIC, our dance company. As well as through our involvement with the American College Dance Association conferences. Auditions are only required for the dance concerts (not classes), and college credit is garnered for participation. While we offer great fundamental dance technique classes, such as ballet, jazz, and modern, we also regularly offer hip hop, tap, social dance, middle eastern, African, and Latin classes. Majors and minors will also be provided courses such as choreography, dance history, dance production, and other courses in technical theatre.
