Engaging in community service provides participants with the opportunity to become active members of their community and have a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service enables participants to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.
Gaining community service experience enhances the participant’s overall profile as a potential candidate for college. Most colleges and universities now consider an applicant’s extracurricular involvement as a determinant in his/her candidacy for college admission.
We require participants to conduct four (4) hours of community service each month. Participants must complete the Community Service Verification Form [PDF] with the required signatures and return the completed form to a UBMS staff member.
