Retention and Graduation Rates by Major

It is the policy of CSUDH to only publish first-time freshmen graduation rates that follow IPEDS reporting conventions (see above). Reports by major (listed below) are available upon request that use local reporting conventions in which all first-time freshmen (full- and part-time) are included, excluding those that begin with more than 29 units. Furthermore, unofficial degrees conferred data is used for local reporting, which is extracted at later dates than the official degrees conferred records submitted to the Chancellor's Office. These differences have very little effect on the six-year graduation rates at the university level, buy may be significant at the program level. By including students who start part-time in their first fall semester, local reporting conventions allow for more students to be tracked in terms of their persistence in majors, changes of major, and achievement. To request local reports by major, please submit a data request through the Data Request Form.
