Thalia Gomez-Quintana (Yaqui-Yoeme)

Thalia Gomez-Quintana (Yaqui-Yoeme) is a lecturer and proud alumni of California State University Dominguez Hills. After graduating from CSUDH, Thalia received a master’s from the University of Arizona, where she worked with elders from the 39th South Tucson community on issues pertaining to Yaqui water rights in Sonora, Mexico. Thalia’s current research centers on Yaqui ontological relationships to the Yaqui River which unsettle settler environments generated through neoliberalism, gender-based violence, settler modernity, and anthropogenic climate change.
